flickr Friday: Happy Memorial Day from the Living Flag

flickr_livingflag.jpgHappy Memorial Day! Enjoy the long weekend and don't forget why we have the holiday in the first place. Sometimes we take photos to document strange things we see. This is a "living flag" formed by some members of the Happy Valley 4-H Club. If you were thinking this looks like something you'd see in the Midwest, you're right--see more work from wausaublog at Flickr.

flickr Friday: Santa Clara's Ruins

flickr_santaclara.jpgAn interesting negative space shot of Santa Clara's Ruins in Antigua, Guatemala. Shot with the Sony HSC-H9 -- Sony CyberShots is a great line of cameras, but check out the newest model DSC-H50 to get more megapixels. And you can see more of Bomba Rosa's work at Flickr.

flickr_urbansurfing.jpgThis guy is surfing in a canal in Munich's Englischer Garten city park! He's no buff, tanned California surfer, but hey. See more .Hessam work at Flickr. flickr Friday: Chikezie! RIP

flickr_chikezie.jpg©Ray Mickshaw/Fox Broadcasting Co.
Well, we can't believe how America voted. The adorably styled, smiley, bouncy guy with the tiny teeth was so wrongly eliminated. See more American Idol obsession atMizz Iyabo Opeke page at Flickr.

Hats Off to the Mother Country

flickr_rockofcashel.jpg
It's time you knew -- PictureSnob loves the Ireland. These apron strings will never be cut. Take a moment to muse the Rock of Cashel (Carraig Phadraig in Irish) from Monti 12 at Flickr. This was once a mighty castle that was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster prior to the Norman invasion. Cashel is in County Tipperary (hello to our friend Alan there) and is said to be where St. Patrick converted the King of Munster in the 5th century A.D. At any rate, it's a beautiful site. Now run off and find a proper pint if you can. Slainte!
