Sanyo VPC-WH1 HD Waterproof Flash Memory Camcorder

sanyo_vpcwh1_waterproof_camcorder.jpgI've been on a bit of a camcorder tear lately as I try to figure out which will be the best option for a camcorder to replace my only current video-recording capabilities, which are on my still camera and my phone. I've looked at a lot of camcorders recently and the Sanyo VPC-WH1 has a lot going for it - flash memory, HD recording (720p, 30 frames per second), and the fact it's waterproof up to ten feet. It's got a 30x optical zoom, and you can still use it to capture stills to your SD or SDHC card.

On top of all that it's on sale at Amazon at the time of this writing for around $130, which is almost 70% off its typical price of $399. Guess I might have to make my camcorder decision sooner than I thought - though some of the reviews lead me to believe this camera may not be quite as "waterproof" as you might like, it's a good price, especially if you're just looking for something you can take in the rain instead of snorkeling.
