Canon EOS 5D Mark II Makes All-Time 100 Gadgets
The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is the kind of camera that makes me drool, and it turns out I'm not the only one who thinks it's a pretty durned neat piece of electronics. Time Magazine recently picked their Top 100 Gadgets of All Time and this little baby made the cut. Here's a snippet from their write-up:
An innovation that changed an industry, the full-frame 21-megapixel 5D Mark II was the first DSLR to feature full HD (1080p) video recording. Filmmakers quickly adopted the cheaper alternative to conventional and expensive interchangeable-lens cameras that film studios use.
Was it the CMOS sensor? The Digic 4 processor? The ability to take HD video? The wireless file transmitter? Or was it the fact it was the first digital camera to take an official presidential portrait? You be the judge.
